Assistant Professor, Faculty of Nursing
Stephanie Chamberlain is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. She received her PhD from the University of Alberta in 2019 where she studied the characteristics and unmet needs of nursing home residents under public guardianship. Her work focuses on loneliness and social isolation in older adults, specifically how personal, social, cultural, and systemic factors can influence older adults’ access and use of health services.
IFSSA has been a big supporter of CoMag since its inception. CoMag has been actively involved in several of IFSSA’s seniors’ initiatives. CoMag has participated in post COVID survey, IFSSA’s relocation project, and Resonate project etc.
ICNA Sister’s inspiration comes from Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) saying ‘he is not us who does not honor elderly’ ICNA sisters provide seniors opportunities to socialize, learn, and have fun in an enlightened environment.

Markaz ul Islam is one of CoMag’s organizational members. The Women and Seniors’ Committee offers programs in their facilities to Women & Seniors.
Rahma Masjid is one of our organizational members. Rahma promotes healthy aging and has provided space for NHSP Seniors’ Program in their facility.
The objects for which Sage Seniors Association (Sage) is established are to enhance the quality of life of older persons and their families.
The Shaama Centre is a dynamic community hub that offers a range of activities and services that enhance the quality of life for our seniors, women and their families especially those who are isolated because of social and physical barriers.
