Ongoing Projects

Older adults are motivated to learn new technologies that can be useful to them and meet their needs. This project aims to understand and support Arabic-speaking older adults’ use of information and communication technologies. We will host at a local Mosque a series of interactive workshops in Arabic and English to advance digital literacy in the community. Some areas we might explore together with older adults include accessing and evaluating information, online safety, communication tools, digital content creation, and problem-solving.

Lead: Dr. Jordana Salma, Funded by a SSHRC Insight Development Grant (2020-2024).

Technologies (ICTs). This project focuses on digital competence amongst Arabic-speaking older adults’ in Edmonton, as well as identifying what their learning needs are.
